One must be very still to see that thread, because the distractions are so many and so compelling that would draw us away from our true nature.
This thread is slender, but not fragile. It will take us just where our soul desires to go, but perhaps our ego wants, the distractions, will blind us from seeing it.
One of the most tempting distractions is to think we can figure out the answers to our life problems. We are sure the solutions will come if we just think on it long enough, or worry it to death.
But that isn’t the way to happiness. Even when solutions come to us, they so often —- usually — become the next problem.
Our solutions were based upon our addiction to our own competence — this great need in us to think we have what it takes to figure out life.
The great untruth here is that it was based on a separate self, not a connected sense of knowing and acting upon a something higher than ourselves that can show us the way into our next step.
But there is another way. A simpler way.
A new and beautiful life awaits us right now, right where we are. It requires heartfelt dedication, waiting, and watching.
Waiting patiently in the silence to see the thread that leads to fulfillment and peace isn’t the easiest thing to do, though, because it’s so easy to get drawn into all the demands placed on us by society and by others.
People want us to perform. And we want to please others. We want to succeed in life. We want to be comfortable and do things at our own pace.
The new life that is calling us doesn’t always feel comfortable. Something in us wants to be born, and when is birthing comfortable?
Things evolve from the inside out, from the mysterious God Seed within us.
Seeds grow in the silence of the dark. It takes our sitting still and waiting. Seeds can’t be forced to grow.
Life is being woven together so skillfully, so faithfully, and so silently by these many small threads that are invisible to the naked eye.
Yet there is only one slender thread, one each moment, that calls us, that beckons us upward.
Through this incessant weaving of each of these threads, the most brilliant tapestry is always being formed. It’s called our life! Life is a process.
Life is trustable. It has been evolving for 14 billion years.
We live in 14 billion years of grace!
If you can’t trust the 14 billion years that have gotten us to this point, what can you trust?
To move into our new and beautiful future we only need to follow those small threads, one at a time.
They are made from the very fabric of universal love, and will lead to our next step.
Don’t ever let go of the thread that is before you, no matter how slender it seems. Hang onto it with your very life.
For it is God, birthing you into something new, something unimaginable, and something necessary for your heartfelt joy.
