However, often we are so anxious to know and understand things that our energy becomes drained and we get stressed out.
And we go around wishing we knew more. We think if we could just understand what is happening or why someone did whatever they did, we’d be at peace.
That assumption is up for questioning, because when we get one thing we quite naturally begin wanting the next — and the next.
The vital question is to ask ourselves how much do we really need to know — and not just want to know?
The distinction between our wants and needs is so important.
We may want something, but what are our true needs?
Do we imagine our knowing answers will give us security or allow us to change what we do not desire? That is certainly a myth.
Answers usually bring with them more questions, and more things we then become rather desperate to know.
I do my best to simply ask the universe to reveal to me what I need to know. I set this intention often throughout my day.
Then I relax, breathe deeply and give thanks that whatever I truly need is right here within me or at my finger tips, right now.
Before my meditation periods, and as I go to sleep at night, I ask Universal Energy to reveal to me what it is that I need to know.
As I do my best to rely on the universe to supply me with what I need, I also trust that I will receive more as needed.
This brings me to a calmer and more peaceful place — a place where I can more deeply accept what is.
Jesus has told us to seek the kingdom of God first and all else will be given us. Matt 6:33
For God already knows our needs and is supplying these right now. Our needs are already met. We just need to connect with God energy of love more completely.
Also Jesus pointed out that the kingdom is within us. Luke 17:21
So what else do we need to know?
My suggestion is to look within. Spend time in contemplation, reflection, dialoguing with God, knowing the Kingdom is within, and rely on our true needs being met exactly as needed in each moment.
Or as E. E. Cummings has put it:
“If you can be, be:
If not, cheer up, and go about other people’s business, doing and undoing unto others till you drop.”
It’s in our ball court. We can bring forth the kingdom, the treasures within us, or we can just tire ourselves out with impatient activity!
Each of us is loved, loved and loved by universal energy no matter what. God’s patience and love are unending.
Our human belief that we are separate and therefore lack something is the only hell there is.
It’s all within us. We don’t have to try to grab our good from someone else.
When we really want to open to the wonder of our being, we will.
Or are we more interested in what others are doing or not doing?
As I see it, my job is to be content with what I find inside me, rely on it, give thanks for it and trust that all my needs will be supplied in the way that is best for me and for everyone.
I pray for the wisdom and patience to say what is needed, and the courage to do it.
The rest will come in due season.
