“Life is a theater – invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is supportive enough and/or spiritually healthy enough to have a front row seat in your life. There are some people that need to be loved from the balcony.”
Drama does make life interesting. Some drama is truly entertaining and brings pleasure to our lives.
Some drama is toxic, and brings much pain.
I think it’s imperative to notice the energy people bring to the room we are in — as well as the energy we are bringing. Are we contributing to the joy and health of those around us? Or are we unconsciously projecting our own woundedness onto the scene.
As John O’Donohue says: “Wounds are never silent.”
And of course we are the main drama in our lives, for we are in every scene! We are the one actor always present.
We are not in charge of what others do, but we have a wide array of choices in our own lives and to the play of our drama. We sometimes choose to let others continue to act out their hurtful behaviors when there are other options.
We could, with much soul work, find ways to step away.
If you find yourself living with painful drama are you willing to risk healthy change in your life?
It’s very hard to have space for our creativity when we spend so much time defending ourselves, attempting to find a psychological safe zone in which to live.
The Buddha preceded his eightfold path for healthy living with this dictum: Right companionship.
I invite you to choose your friends very carefully, as well as thoughtfully plan how much time you spend in those uncomfortable but necessary relationships that you can’t step away from.
And above all, don’t throw people out of your theatre, but make some space between you and them. Even though you decide to stop “dancing” with others, please don’t throw them out of your heart. Everyone needs love.
You are so important to our world. Your creativity and your gifts need to be brought onto your stage. Your soul desires you to act from your Center. It’s calling you.
Declare yourself free with the freedom of Spirit, and take necessary steps to bring forth your free and authentic nature. You will bless everyone.
I will be enriched by your great risk to express the love you are meant to share, so I give thanks for you right now!
