Too late for what? This is the question.
Obviously it’s too late for me to become a ballerina in this lifetime. Or a weight lifter. Or a great violinist. The physical body has some limits.
And I don’t think I’m going to become a billionaire either.
But it’s not too late to find a view of life that leads to happiness. It’s not too late to understand that every bit of life has profound meaning, no matter the circumstances or the length of life.
It’s not too late to begin to truly appreciate that whatever life brings us is an important part of our spiritual journey that can lead us into greater awareness of what and who we really are—to the truth of our amazing and wondrous nature.
It’s not too late to discover that we are not a limited, physical being, but instead we are an energy system that is connected to the greater energy field we call the Universe. Here in this vast universe, all points connect in this energy field. And the great news is that we live and move and have our being in this field of connection.
We are not left out. Everything connects us!
This energy field is always giving us just what is needed for our spiritual, soul ennobling journey.
It’s not too late to discover this separate “I” we think we are is an illusion. We are so much more than an isolated being.
It’s not too late to find a harmonious connection with everyone and everything, for we are connected to a reality that has its source in an all-powerful life giving force. It is intangible and invisible, yet out of it springs all life, all movement. Energy flows everywhere and leaves nothing out.
This living field of energy always has our backs, so to speak. This Presence is breathing us and always giving us just what we need, whether we understand it or not, for we cannot ever really be disconnected. But we can think we are—imagine we are. But it’s not too late to remember our truth!
We have been born for soul growth, for spiritual advancement, and it’s available every moment of life. The universe never leaves us out!
As the Native American proverb goes: Even when I sit here in my self-pity the winds of the heavens are carrying me across the sky.
I believe the only thing we take with us when we leave this physical body is our soul—our spirit—and that we are lovingly cared for each moment of our infinite journey—whether in or out of a physical body.
The universe is helping us succeed—helping us express our true nature. For we are a spiritual being having a human experience, as Teihard de Chardin has said.
It’s not too late to understand that we are not the only center of the universe, but we can be centered in the universe as we understand our connectedness to everyone and everything. Centering gives us balance.
It’s not too late to find the meaning within each event of our lives—-and to know that everything leads us forward.
There is right now a new story for us to tell. It’s the story of a growing, unfolding Being of Light. That’s who and what we are!
Let’s appreciate all that has happened to get us to this place of new beginnings.
Whatever we think is lost will come around again in a new form. We may not recognize it. But it is in process.
My prayer is “Help me to see what I’m not presently seeing. Help me to remain open to new ideas and ways of seeing. Help me to recognize judgments and understand they come from conditioning—from the circumstances of my environment. They are not me. Help me to know there is no me. Help me to open to something greater and wider than any me. Help me to see that I am an energy being, a flow of universal energy.
And I ask for the openness and patience to grieve all that I have lost. Help me appreciate that which is being born this moment.”
It’s not too late.
